Live Today

I haven’t been skiing in 20 years…20 years!!! I loved skiing when I was younger and my family always went at least once, but sometimes multiple times, a year. So why haven’t I been skiing in 20 years? Well, lots of reasons I guess, but none of them good enough to keep me from doing something I enjoyed…One of the many lessons learned from the deaths of Ellis, my husband of 21 years, and my new love, B, is that we are not guaranteed our health, or even our next breath, and so we should live life to the fullest today. So, here I am, 45 years old, with a completely different center of gravity (you ladies who have had children understand what I’m saying!) re-learning how to ski and having a blast with my kids! I can’t help but imagine that the two men I’ve loved are looking down on us and smiling. Why haven’t I taken them skiing before today? I have no idea, and feeling guilt for that is not constructive, but we can enjoy today!

  1. You are still so beautiful! Your smile lights up a room. Keep smiling, Angie. God still has plans for you. I don’t know what they are. I don’t understand why we have to go through hard times. I do know that there is a plan. In His time, everything will work out. Both of my parents have left this earth, but they passed on their assurance of God’s love and the peace of knowing that everything will work out. I hear my dad saying that to me often.

    1. Thank you so much. And you are right, everything will work out. Death is a part of life in this world, and we can choose to let this natural part of life prevent us from living or we can choose to live on. The promise that I will be together with them, to dance and laugh and sing again one day helps me to be able to continue live this life now!
